Pathé Sow & Sissoko on 'Aduna // Music Frames
"Aduna" (The World) is called exporters the cd of the Senegalese duo: Malick Pathe Sow (right) and Bao Sissoko. Delicious, sun-drenched chords music, with sparkling guitar hoddu (kind of banjo) and kora (West African harp). Both control their excellent instrument that instrumental music is interspersed with sung pieces.
In an honest and straightforward way they handle the Mandinka melodies with Western tonalities. The result is beautiful and very accessible music with a dreamy atmosphere that suits the theme. Malick Pathe Sow and Bao Sissoko assisted by four musicians calabash (percussion instrument), divan (Turkish stringed instrument) and singing. The most notable is Guo Gan, a Chinese erhu player (one stringed bowed instrument) that the "Homage exporters to Ali Farka Toure (1939-2006) pentatonic enriched wonderful in their own way. Malick Pathe Sow (vocals, hoddu, guitar) comes from the tradition of singers and instrument builders. He was the accompanist for years by Baaba Maal and lives since 1995 in Belgium. exporters In 2008 he recorded his debut CD Maayo One and addressed thus the ancient tradition of peuhl populations from West Africa. Bao Sissoko exporters also grew up in Senegal, into a family of griots (storytellers). His father, a permanent member with the National exporters Ballet of Senegal, taught him to play the kora. He now lives in Belgium and has worked with violinist Wouter exporters Vandenabeele.
